London -

The final countdown

semi-overcast 19 °C

Dear all
Hope all is going OK over there back in Oz. Went on another spending spree today and finally I have the watch I've always longed for. Got a Rado and it is just beatiful.
Off to Paris tomorrow and have sorted out money (not that I have much left after buying the Rado). We'll be off on the Chunnel train and should be in Paris by about 13.00hrs I think.
No more photos today but I have got about another 90 to load onto a thumb drive. Looking forward to boring a bunch of you to death with our trip and the photos!
Take care all
See you in a few weeks

London continues

How to get sore feet and blisters in one easy lesson

overcast 18 °C

Hi all. Having a blast here and spending lots of money. Sorry 4 the lack of news but access to the internet is not as easy as I,d hoped. Note to self and others - bring your own notebook to make life easier and to keep in contact.

Over the last few days we,ve seen St Paul,s, Marble Arch, Trafalgar, London Tower, Portsmouth with the Warrior and Victory and Westminster Abbey. Still heaps more 2 see but running out of time. Went to Harrods yesterday and spent a small fortune on a shirt. but you only live once.

London sights

It's a tough job but someone's got to do it

sunny 20 °C

Managing to find our way on the tube and the buses. Fantastic way to get around. Even getting into the local protocols like standing to the right if standing on the escalators to let the workers through. Shopping is wonderful. Found Oxford st. yesterday and had a blast with the cards. Toured the Thames on a ferry.
The Shower thing? Well the Hand held shower comes out in one solid stream at 90 degrees and soaks the entire bathroom. So your drying yourself in puddles of water on the floor. All part of the adventure!
Will write more soon.
Cheers Bee

London at last

Waiting is the name of the game

overcast 19 °C

Finally got to our hotel at 11.00hrs this morning. The flight out of Singapore was delayed for about 2hrs in total but Qantas made good and made up about an hour along the way. Good old Qantas!!!!!! A point for future travellers. Go Premium Economy if you can't stretch to Business Class. It's nearly just as good and the service from all of the crew was wonderful.
Booked into the Hotel. Strange shower! Had a walk along the Thames at Victoria Embankment and we'll most likely have an early night tonight. We've both been on the go with very little rest and Bee's starting to become a little tetchy! Ron reckons he's just tired.
Will hit the streets tomorrow and hopefully have some piccy's to load up after that.
Have been in touch with Linda (the house sitter) and all is well with Madam. Apparently she slept next to Linda's head all night and the meds have been given, so looks like we might become redundant! Survival beats loyalty every day! Who said animals were dumb!
Take care all and will write some more tomorrow.
